The Most Streamed Shows in 2021

Nielson releases their annual report that shows what everyone is streaming. And with streaming TV, these are the shows that saw the most views in 2021.

The Most Streamed Shows in 2021

Top 15 Streamed Original Shows

For original shows, Netflix dominated the Top 15 list with 12 out of 15 shows. While this does not mean there were no other good original shows on other streaming services. Netflix has the lion's share of subscribers and the most original content. This combination no doubt helped weigh the results in their favor. And this helped them see many more hours of content streamed by customers on their platform.

Another interesting observation is Amazon did not even place one show in the top 15 list for original content. This reinforces the notion that the cord cutters who buy Fire TV Sticks, most likely don't buy them to stream Amazon Prime.

They purchased these shows from other studios and channels, unlike the list above, which are strictly shows created for the streaming services themselves.

Once again, Netflix dominated the ratings with the top 14 out of 15 shows all seeing the most time streamed on their platform. From the results, we can see Netflix continues to offer the most content. And this is one more reason they can justify their latest price increase for the first quarter in 2022.
