Beware of These Fleeceware Android Apps

These are apps were identified as having sketchy trial periods that will often charge even before the free trial is over.

Sophos, a UK Cybersecurity research firm identified the following Android apps to use with caution. Between them all, they have been installed almost 600 million times.

Worse yet, some of these Android apps can cost you a large sum of money if installed as a free trial and not canceled in time. Charges can still occurred even if a user removed the app completely from their device.

One app mentioned in the report was Fortunemirror. It's an app that gives you your daily horoscope. These reviews are enough to make one not even want to install it for the 3/day free trial.

These kind of tactics used by app developers will drive some Android users to search out mod apps, which have had the ads removed and have also been activated so they can be fully used without any payment.

This hurts the entire Android community. And especially the good app developers that do not engage in these type of tactics to make money from their users.
