Roku Channel Store 2020 Blackout Dates

ROKU CHANNEL STORE 2020 BLACKOUT DATES ANNOUNCED

Roku channel developers who want to upload their channels to Roku so they can be added to the public channel store will want to keep these blackout dates in mind:

  • Friday, November 13, 2020, through Sunday, November 29, 2020
  • Friday, December 11, 2020, through Sunday, January 3, 2021
These are the dates that no channels may be uploaded to the Roku channel store for certification. If you can get your channels uploaded to the queue ahead of these dates, Roku will try to get as many channels published as possible.

Depending on how many channels are in front, your channels may not get published until some time after the dates listed above.

This is an annual event for Roku, and it gives their staff a much-needed break to spend with family during the holiday season.

Don't Use Roku Publisher Schedule During Blackout Dates

The blackout dates listed above are in effect for all aspects of the channel store. Developers who use the Roku publisher schedule should realize if they schedule their channels to be uploaded during the blackout dates. They will NOT be uploaded.

The bottom line is if you want your Roku channels published ahead of the designated blackout dates. Be sure to allow plenty of time in advance of the busy holiday season.

Roku is a popular media streamer and many new Roku owners will be wanting to add more channels to their Roku players.

Don't miss out on a ton of new subscribers so publish early and get your channels uploaded to the Roku channel store well before the blackout takes effect.
